System Requirements - H.O.M.E.S. and H.O.M.E.S. Lite

The system requirements for running H.O.M.E.S. (or H.O.M.E.S. Lite) are minimal especially for remote sales or construction site office clients (or local head office clients) using Remote Desktop to connect to head office, because H.O.M.E.S. does not have to be installed on the remote client computers.

Administration is also minimal even if clients are not using remote desktop at head office because typically upgrades are only necessary on the main file server. (We are happy to perform upgrades for you if temporary remote access is granted.)

Following are detailed system requirements for running the various implementations of H.O.M.E.S. or H.O.M.E.S. Lite:

H.O.M.E.S. (On-line)

Remote Access Clients (e.g. Sales Office, On-line PDI or Construction Site Office):

Microsoft Windows® 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7 or any remote desktop compatible client (includes Apple Mac or iPad)
Internet access
Colour monitor with minimum 800x600 resolution (1024x768 or higher preferred for sales office.)
Keyboard, mouse and remote desktop compliant printer

Local Head Office Clients (Using Remote Desktop):

Microsoft Windows® 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7 or any remote desktop compatible client (includes Apple Mac or iPad)
Colour monitor with minimum 800x600 resolution (1024x768 or higher preferred)
Keyboard, mouse and remote desktop compliant printer

Local Head Office Clients (Not using Remote Desktop):

Microsoft Windows® 11, 10, 8.1 & 8, 7 (except Windows S or RT)
Microsoft Office® 365 or Office 2007 (or later) 32 bit version locally installed. (Combinations of Windows and Office supported by Microsoft are supported.)
Minimum 64Mb RAM, 50Mb hard disk space
Colour monitor with minimum 800x600 resolution (1024x768 or higher preferred)
Keyboard, mouse and printer

Head Office Server: (only necessary if multiple simultaneous remote users need be hosted from one computer.)

Microsoft Windows Server (2003 or later) or Windows 10 or later edition with Terminal Services enabled and sufficient client access licenses for remote users. (3rd party software may be required for Windows 10/11.)
Microsoft Office® 365 or Office 2007 (or later) 32 bit version locally installed. (Combinations of Windows and Office supported by Microsoft are supported.)
50Mb hard disk space (varies)
High-speed Internet Connection with static IP or other constant Internet address

H.O.M.E.S. Customer Service/PDI System (Off-Line)

(Uses data exchange/synchronization to link remote inspection workstation)

Remote (Off-line) Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Clients:

Microsoft Windows® 11, 10 , 8.1 & 8, 7 (except Windows S & RT)
Microsoft Office® 365 or Office 2007 (or later) 32 bit version locally installed. (Combinations of Windows and Office supported by Microsoft are supported.)

Tablet PC with stylus and rear-facing webcam (preferred) or keyboard & mouse/pointing device and optional portable or wireless printer
